Sealed-Edge & Sealed-Border Cleanroom Wipers

Ultra-low-lint wipes for the most critical cleanrooms.

Edge treatment is one of the biggest cleanliness differentiators between wipes made from the same fabric. Sealed-edge and sealed-border cleanroom wipers use heat or ultrasonic energy to fuse the perimeter, locking in filaments and preventing fraying—so the wipe removes contamination without creating new particles. Compared with cut-edge (knife-cut) wipes, sealed designs deliver dramatically lower fiber and particle release, making them the preferred choice for ISO Class 3–5 cleanrooms, aseptic areas, and precision processes where yield and surface integrity are highly sensitive.

Different sealing methods create different performance profiles. Laser-sealed edges cut and seal in one step for strong edge retention, while ultrasonic sealing typically produces a softer edge with even lower particle generation, which can be important for scratch-sensitive surfaces like optics, photomasks, and microelectronics. Many sealed-edge/border wipers are also cleanroom laundered and tested to IEST recommended practices for particles, fibers, ionic contamination, and nonvolatile residues, supporting validated cleaning SOPs.
