100% Non-Sterile Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA)

100% (99%+) non-sterile IPA is used in cleanrooms primarily for precision solvent cleaning, not routine disinfection. Compared with 70% IPA, the near-anhydrous formula evaporates faster and leaves virtually no residue or moisture, which is why it performs better on water-sensitive processes and parts. Cleanroom teams choose 100% IPA for electronics and microelectronics cleaning (PCB/connector/wafer handling areas), optics and lens prep, precision instruments, and adhesive/flux or light oil removal—applications where even small water content can streak, slow dry-down, or interfere with next steps.

Because 100% IPA flashes off so quickly, it is less effective than 70% IPA for broad surface disinfection, but it is the preferred alcohol for final solvent wipe steps, residue-free drying, and moisture-avoiding cleaning in controlled environments.
