What Material Should You Use for Lint Free Wipes

20th Apr 2015

Lint-free wipes are one of the most used supplies in your cleanroom. These wipes are hard workers, doing everything from polishing finished products to wiping up spills and removing contaminants. SOS offers lint-free wipes in seven different materials so you can choose the one that's right for your clean room:

  • Polyester: These wipes are very clean since they are laundered before they are packaged. Perfect for Class 10 and 100 cleanrooms.
  • Cotton: The most common wipes, made from non-shedding cotton so you don't have to worry about lint contamination.
  • Foam: These wipes are great for working with liquids, and are efficient at cleaning up spills. Commonly used in pharmaceutical applications.
  • Microdenier: Made from 100% polyester, the Microdenier is the cleanest and most consistent option for a wiper.
  • Nylon: Very soft, very absorbent, and offers good durability.
  • Cellulose/Polyester: A good all-purpose option for your cleanroom.
  • Polypropylene/Cellulose: This combination creates a cloth-like wipe.

Which wipe you choose is largely based on your industry and your cleanroom workers' personal preference. You can order a variety of lint-free wipes for your cleanroom and allow them to decide which ones they like the best.
