20th Jan 2015
Cleaning your cleanroom will help keep your bioburden in check with these few tips.
- Establish protocol for regular cleaning operations. This way, it becomes a standard set expectation for the employees to meet.
- If you have a cleaning crew that comes in daily and does the major cleaning and restocking for the cleanrooms, train them to order their activities to optimize their cleaning.
- First, have them empty the trash.
- Second, train them on how to clean the general equipment.
- Third, train on the proper usage of solvents and cleaners.
- Fourth, train on how to clean the HEPA filters when cleaning the ceiling.
- Fifth, Besure the cleaning crew knows how to clean all areas of the cleanroom properly, including the ceiling, walls, surfaces and floors. Give them explicit instructions for cleaning. For example, when to use Texwipes and what the procedures are for their use. (If you use the TX8727 lint free wipes, they come in a one-hand operation package to aid with keeping the clean room clean. Keeping them well-stocked in the cleanroom is crucial.)
- Self-audit to be sure the processes are being followed. This can be as simple as having the cleaning crew fill out a checklist or checking in to monitor the process.
